hey! so i'm interested in getting some icons, and i'm currently in the capping stage. i'm able to get caps in either day lighting or night lighting, and since it's a vidya, i occasionally play with a shader.

since i've got no knowledge about this stuff and i'm not sure what's best for you and how you icon, i wanted to find out what combo of lighting/shader is easiest for you to work with before i get all the caps put together! i've got some examples here - generally the shader makes things look kind of blown out in bright lighting, but it can also make this game look less flat in darker/indoor lighting. i'd prrrooobably be interested in a slightly less saturated style (i like the look of the sera and leftmost garrus icon in your examples) but if you think your usual vibrant style would look better, then i'd gladly go with that too. 8)

hi there! i'm so sorry it took so long to get back to you. work has been killer and my computer monitor is broken/not displaying colors properly, but that will be fixed tonight, so do you mind if i take a look at your screenshots then, if you haven't looked elsewhere for icons, yet? no hard feelings/worries if you have.

i can absolutely do less saturated, though, that's no problem (and the leftmost turian is actually vetra! but she does look kinda like garrus from the side lol). it's just a matter of waiting maybe a couple of more hours for my monitor. again, sorry for taking a few days to answer!

these would go through some more tweaking either way (obviously the darker night ones in option one, shaders would be brightened up a bit)

also, i belatedly remembered what you said about less saturated, but i kinda didn't think and added my usual vibrancy layers by default, so that being said, lemme know if you like either of these options but want them less saturated or less/more anything else!!

hi! i'm looking to get 15 icons, but what i want is a bit specific. like in the icon i've got here, i'm looking to get these assets on this kind of background. is this something you'd do, and if so how much would you charge for it?

hey there!! would you want (one of) those backgrounds specifically, and if so, which one/which color? or if you don't see one you like there, but want something like it, you can request a different color gradient in the form or here. i might have to search around to see how they did it exactly, or something similar, since it doesn't look like a normal gradient. but anyway! i don't see a reason to charge extra for it, either, so it'd just be regular price.

thank you! i've gotten right to work. here are a few (four) screencaps with the edited eye color. i assumed sea-green is like a blue-green, and because the original character's eyes are so dark (in the shirtless photos, i WILL change the eye color but it may not be obvious), i will try/have tried to bump up the lighting on the eyes to make it more noticeable. however, please note, on some darker caps it would come out looking a little ridiculous, so on the icons some changes might be a little less apparent.

let me know if you want the color to be more blue, more green, darker, lighter, and i'll see what i can do.

Could we possibly go a bit darker? I know the lighting on many of these is horrible, and I'm definitely fine with less noticeable but more realistic results c:

i appreciate your understanding! finally, here are your icons, in .zip format. if you'd like them in a different archive format, let me know. they are all .png files! there are twenty in total but you only asked for nineteen and it's only twenty because of one variation, so that's all you'll be charged for, plus whatever we work out for changing the eye color (which won't be much, of course).

if you don't like the icons or don't like an individual icon or want anything at all changed, don't hesitate to ask or tell me.

These all look very nice. How much do I owe you? Will it be considered 15+4 or 19? There is also the extra charge for the eyes, as mentioned.

i'm happy you like them! it will be considered 15 + 4. that would be $7, and if it sounds alright with you, just an extra dollar for the eye color adjustment. so that'd be about a little more than 5¢ per icon, and your total would be $8. is that okay?

hi there! thanks for your order. on the darker ones, i'll both include color-corrected and non-color-corrected icons in my examples and you can choose which one you like better before i tackle the other ones.

here are some examples! i know i say 3 examples in my guidelines but for the color-corrected ones... well, it's technically three. i assumed the last screencaps are spoilery, and i did use one of those, so i've linked them in an album just in case.

as for the color-corrected/non-cc'd ones...

with correcting and without.

SO, let me know, both on the regular icons and the color corrected ones. too bright, too light, too dark, too red, etc. i want you to be happy with your icons, for sure!

Oh wow I love these already. I definitely prefer the color corrected ones, you did a fantastic job!

For the examples in the comment itself, the second is a bit bright and the third one looks a bit red on my screen but it's no big deal! I'd prefer the color be a little off than her skin tone get washed out. They're really great. :3

i'll tone down the brightness a little on the icons that look like they need it (because i agree, she is a little glowy in the second one) and my monitor is funky when it comes to displaying reds so i'll try to make it a little less red. i was worried about washing her out, so i'm glad it was noticeable that i tried to avoid accidentally doing it.

that being said, i'll go ahead and continue to work on the rest and get them to you ASAP!

unfortunately, i do work today, but i will hopefully be able to work more on them tomorrow and get them to you by then. i'm mostly popping back in to get your opinion on that too-red icon; i decreased the saturation but i'm not sure if it makes her look too pale.

the image itself is really pink/red, so i also tried one with some selective coloring to tone that down and bring some of the other colors out, like the yellow. the one on the left does NOT have the saturation adjusted, the one on the right does, like the image above it.

thoughts? also, sorry for all the questions. i just wanna make sure you get what you pay for/what you want.

I think I actually like the third one (bottom right)! It's not too pale.

time for an explanation: i ended up making around 250 icons, but about 50 of those are color variations, and i don't/will not charge for those because it's something i chose to do myself. that being said, the total number of icons i made-- minus the variations-- is 197 icons.

because you originally provided 200+ images, and because it's simply cheaper to do it that way (the first 100 would be $25, then if i counted by groups of 15 and the single icons, it would be $30-something for the rest) AND if you like them, i'll just charge you for the 200 icon price.

FURTHERMORE!! the icons themselves: if they are absolutely any you do not like, or even if you don't like any of them at all, tell me the name/number (or tell me they're all hideous) and i will fix them to your liking for, of course, no charge. here's hoping you do like them, though!

now, onto the links: the first 197 icons and the 49 variations!! let me know if i need to change it into a .zip or something instead of a .rar, i kind of just default to .rar without thinking.

I was able to open the .rars! And I really love them, actually. There are a handful where I'm not ecstatic about the coloring but the original colors were SO OFF that you did a great job and there are also alts I prefer. I'm generally really happy with her skin tone not being washed out and the crops. :3

Is the final price $55 then? I can paypal you whenever!

I had some friends on plurk point me your way when I was asking around about icon commissions and I really love your work! Do you happen to be open to taking commissions currently? I was only looking for a small number right now, less than 15 probably!

The canon isn't out of theaters yet so high quality screencaps are still few and far between. (I'd probably like to come back later once the film is out on blueray and I can get more screencaps, if you're still open to commissions then!)

Questions, Comments, Other?: Sorry about the mixed bag quality of the images! This movie still is like, half-way in theaters so finding screencaps of ANY of it is a challenge. If any of them are like, not sharp/high quality enough to use, then feel free to skip them! I'm really just looking for a small usable set to try the character out until I can get my hands on better/more varied screencaps! My only specific request is, when possible, not showing TOO MUCH of her longer hair in the icons...although it's not a very big deal if the cropping works better with the hair very visible. I'm playing her from when her hair is short, but it's not at ALL a big deal!
